Community invited to LHU President Robert Pignatello’s inauguration

Robert Pignatello

LOCK HAVEN — Lock Haven University will be officially welcoming its 15th president, Robert Pignatello, to the bald eagle family at his inauguration on Friday, March 1.

The ceremonies will begin at 3 p.m. at Thomas Fieldhouse. Students, faculty and staff will be there and the community is invited as well.

Pignatello was selected by the Board of Governors of Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education in March 2018, and assumed the role of president on July 1. He succeeded Dr. Michael Fiorentino, who served as president of LHU for nearly seven years.

Before joining Lock Haven University, Pignatello served as the senior vice president for finance and administration and chief operating officer of Hunter College, a part of the City University of New York State System, where he worked for more than 20 years.

Prior to joining Hunter College, Pignatello spent some years as vice president and, ultimately, senior vice president and chief operating officer at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
