Nittany Valley Writers

to hear speaker

STATE COLLEGE — The Nittany Valley Writers Network will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, in the Schlow Library Community Room in State College.

Guest speaker and memoirist Dr. Carline M. Crevecoeur will discuss how to get the most out of attending a writers conference, and share tips and lessons learned from attending the San Francisco Writers Conference.

Crevecoeur is a retired board-certified OB/GYN and the author of the upcoming book, “Pressure Makes Diamonds,” an inspiring memoir describing her journey raising and homeschooling her five children, who went on to attend Ivy League colleges including Dartmouth, MIT, and Harvard.

The Nittany Valley Writers’ Network is a sharing, supportive, inspiring community linking local writers of all genres and levels of experience: expert and novice, published and hopeful.

All writers are welcome. The next meeting on June 11 will be an open reading.

The Nittany Valley Writers Network also holds Writers Socials on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Mad Mex in State College. For more information, contact Mark T. Shirey at mts@uplink.net.
