Flag raising at Rest Haven

There will be a Rest Haven Memorial Park on May 18 at 2 p.m. The Jersey Shore Honor Guard will be performing Taps and a 21 gun salute and Pennsylvania Queens from the International United Miss will be there placing flags. All community members are encouraged to attend.

Election Day Soup, Hoagie

and Bake Sale

Faith United Methodist Church in Castanea will have an Election Day soup and bake sale at the Castanea polls in the fire hall on McElhattan Avenue from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21. The soup choices are vegetable beef or ham and bean.

Shoe Bank to open

The next date the Lock Haven Area Shoe Back will be open is Saturday, May 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven, sponsored by the United Methodist Women. After that, the Shoe Bank will close for the summer, re-opening on Aug. 17. Food bank changes hours

The New Hope Food Bank has changed its hours. The food bank is open every second and fourth Friday of the month from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
