Flags of Honor Ceremony at Triangle Park Sunday

LOCK HAVEN — The Rotary Club of Downtown Lock Haven will be holding a Flags of Honor Ceremony on Sunday morning beginning at 11 a.m. at Triangle Park.

The Rotary Club of Downtown Lock Haven had an idea four years ago to honor veterans, first responders, and people important in one’s life. The idea came from seeing American flags flying proudly along Route 15 near Country Cupboard and gave way to the Flags of Honor that have been placed in the park on Friday evening.

This is the fourth year the Rotary Club of Downtown Lock Haven has continued this beautiful and solemn service, placing 80 flags on the perimeter of Triangle Park this year.

The flags will remain in the park until sun down on Monday, May 28.

The public is invited to come see the flags as well as to join them in honoring those who make this country and community great.

The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. with a distribution of booklets and a meet and greet and be followed by the singing of the National Anthem by Kim Vance at 11:30 p.m.

TAPS will be blown by Colonel Thomas J. Motel as well.

The VFW will be there sometime in the afternoon after their program at the monument on the corner of Church Street and Bellefonte Avenue.
