State College Elks celebrate veteran’s 101st birthday

The Elks motto is “so long as there are veterans, they will never be forgotten.” That was never more evident than when the State College Elks’ Veterans Service Committee members assisted with the celebration of the 101st birthday of State College Elks member, Paul Homan, of Salem Hill Senior Adult Residence in Spring Mills. Paul served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, with 36 months in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre, as a radio operator. Celebrating with Paul seated, are from left State College Elks Lodge’s Veterans Service Committee Co-chair Vernon Crawford, Co-chair W. F. Reiber, and Veterans Service Committee member Jack McKinley.
