Sugar Valley plans Memorial Day festivities
LOGANTON — There will be lots of activities in Sugar Valley on Memorial Day, including the annual parade at 2 p.m. and a Memorial Day service immediately following the parade.
The parade forms at the east end of Loganton and moves west on Main Street to the intersection where a service will be held in front of the bank.
Speaking will be Loganton Mayor David Shreckengast and Clinton County Commissioner Jeff Snyder. Keynote speaker is state representative Stephanie Borowicz. Others participating are Pastor John Granchie and Thomas Owens, an Army veteran. Music will be provided by Sugar Valley Community Band.
Food stands will be open prior to the parade and St. John’s United Church of Christ, Tylersville, will be selling ham barbeques, drinks and desserts. St. Paul Lutheran Church will be selling snow cones and Albright United Methodist church will have hot dogs and drinks.
The Sugar Valley Fire Company will be serving a chicken barbecue at the fire hall after the parade.
A tractor show will be held at the east end of Loganton before and after the parade.
