Dogwood Circle plans garden tour July 10

LOCK HAVEN — The Dogwood Circle Garden Club will hold its July 10 meeting at the home of Sherry Dwyer Black’s Pine Creek home, where the group will tour her gardens at 3 p.m. and enjoy dinner served in her pavilion at 5 p.m.

Garden club members are requested to bring plants to exchange and a dish to share.

June’s meeting was held at the home of Kathy Miller and co-hosted by Judy Walker. President Mary Vairo opened the meeting with discussion of a new committee to plan the 2020 Dogwood Circle’s 60th anniversary celebration.

Hazel Myers, chairperson of the Planting Committee, thanked all members for helping to weed and clean the Triangle Park and Monument gardens. She also thanked those who participated in the planting.

Carol Lugg and Susan Daniels will be the judges to award July’s Garden of the Month. The theme for July is “Destination Gardens.” As an example, a Destination Wedding or a shady tranquil garden that is an escape from the busy time at home and creates a peaceful cool relaxing summer space.
