Calling all Clinton County veterans!
LOCK HAVEN — All Clinton County veterans are invited to the Clinton County Veterans Picnic on Wednesday, Aug. 21, from 4-7 p.m. at Bland J. Rossman VFW Post 1630 in Lock Haven.
Sponsored anualy by the Clinton County Veterans Affairs Office, the picnic is always a great event with a picnic style meal featuring hot dogs, baked beans, watermelon and more.
So circle the date on your calendar and plan to attend.
Those who attend are always amazed at the number of old friends they meet up with and the new friends they make.

Covenant Cafe plans pool party
LOCK HAVEN — Covenant Cafe participants and guests are invited to a pool party at the home of Cafe volunteer Sherry Wilson for their session on July 16 from 1-3:30 p.m.
The group will meet at the Covenant United Methodist Church at 44 W. Main St. at 1 p.m. and car pool to the event. Participants are asked to bring a dish to share. Paper products, meat and drinks will be provided. Outdoor games, swimming and socializing around the pool are all encouraged. The event will be held rain or shine.
The Covenant Cafe is a joint venture between the Outreach and Witness Committee of Covenant United Methodist, the Alzheimer’s Support Group and the Alzheimer’s Association. Participants in this group are given an opportunity to be involved in socially and physically stimulating programs which will help them remain as active as possible.

Lock Haven Area Shoebank
LOCK HAVEN — The Lock Haven Area Shoebank, which provides shoes, school-worthy sneakers, socks and a book to youngsters has announced its 2019-2020 schedule.
The shoebank will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven, on the following Saturdays — Aug. 17, Sept. 21, Oct. 19, Nov. 16, Dec. 14 in 2019, and Jan. 18, Feb. 15, March 21, April 18 and May 16 in 2020.
Changes to the schedule may be made due to a lack of volunteers, weather or other issues but will be announced.
