Update on Fishing Pond in Wayne Township

McELHATTAN — Wayne Township Supervisor Dave Calhoun along with members of the Recreation Board met with the Clinton County Conservation District, Pa Fish & Boat Commission and DEP on August 5.

The group had a very successful discussion on keeping the pond where it is located. The first step is to acquire a GP1 permit, which will allow machinery in the creek to remove the existing sediment. Supervisor Calhoun and Jacob Wenrich will be filling out the permit and get it submitted early next week. This process will take about two weeks for approval. Once this permit is in hand, work will begin around the first week-end in September.

Keep watching The Express for updates, as volunteers will be needed to help with construction of the rock barriers to keep the water within the banks.
