Lou Bernard to lead suffrage tour
Local historian Lou Bernard will give a historic suffrage walking tour on Saturday, Sept, 28 at 6 p.m. The tour will focus on many of the women who fought locally for the right to vote. This tour will begin at the Ross Library and take approximately an hour. It is free and open to the public. Hungry for pork and sauerkraut?
The 52nd Annual Family Style Pork and Sauerkraut Dinner at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 120 Kendall Ave., Jersey Shore, will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 16, with lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Take-outs all day. Fresh homemade doughnuts are coming back
Trinity United Methodist Church will be offering fresh homemade doughnuts on Thursday, Oct. 17. Walk-ins are welcome after 7 a.m. that day. To order doughnuts, call the church office at 570-398-2913 Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to place an order and give approximate time of pick-up on Oct. 17. The cost is $6 per dozen and $3 for a half-dozen.
