Howard Postmaster Robert Hilder is retiring

HOWARD — Robert Hilder will be retiring on Sept. 30 after 33.4 years of service as Howard’s postmaster.

Bob began his postal career in 1986 at Bayshore (Long Island), NY.

His employment continued at the State College and Spring Mills post offices before his becoming the Postmaster at Howard in 1999.

Bob lives in Bellefonte with his wife Donna. They have a daughter Melissa, a son Eric and a Golden Retriever. Bob’s hobbies include woodworking, fishing and golf. Bob’s plans for retirement include moving to Ocala, Florida later this year.

Bob mentioned “that the people of Howard are wonderful. It has been great to get to know many of you over the years, and it has been my pleasure to serve as the Postmaster in Howard.” Bob also wants to thank his co-workers at the post office for all of their hard work.
