Laurel Run UMC to

celebrate 125th

birthday

MILL HALL — Laurel Run United Methodist Church will be celebrating its 125th birthday this Saturday, Sept. 21 beginning at 4 p.m.

The celebration will include special performances by Beth Young, Reverend Bruce Wallace, Susan, Megan and Gretchen Smith and Elaine Barth. All are welcome to attend the event.

Hot dogs and hamburgers will be served and guests are asked to bring a covered dish to share.

The congregation asks anyone who is interested to join them for a wonderful evening of fellowship, reminiscing and celebration.

PSP holding Citizens’ Police Academy

LAMAR — Citizens’ Police Academy, Pennsylvania 18 years of age and older who are interested in police procedure from the Pennsylvania State Police perspective are invited to apply to this eight-week course. For two hours every Tuesday evening from Oct. 22 through Dec. 10, students will learn various aspects of law enforcement procedures.

Classes will be held at the Clinton County Department of Emergency Services, 301 Frederick St., Lock Haven. Pick up an application at PSP Lamar or request one by email from Trooper Angela Bieber at abieber@pa.gov. The application deadline is Monday, Oct. 7.

Those interested must apply and be accepted in order to participate.
