Local Democrats hold free ice cream social

LOCK HAVEN – Nearly 100 residents from Clinton County turned out for an Ice Cream Social held on Saturday, Sept. 7 at Triangle Park.

Attendees were able to enjoy free ice cream, listen to music, play games, paint rocks, register to vote and learn about candidates seeking election this fall.

The event, held by the Clinton County Democratic Committee (CCDC), was planned as an informal get together for anyone wishing to learn more about the local Democratic Party.

“Our Committee is eager to meet the residents of Clinton County and learn about their interests and concerns,” said CCDC Chairwoman Rose Reeder. “We thought a free ice cream social in downtown provided a great opportunity to do just that. We saw new faces, engaged new voters, and ultimately had a blast, building camaraderie amongst county residents.”

Reeder, who thanked Avis Borough Committeewoman Linda Roller for donating the ice cream for this event, said she hopes to continue planning such outreach endeavors going forward.
