Old Photo Album: Former Jay Street bridge demolition underway

After workmen for Nestlrode Contracting Company in Lock Haven removed a section of beam from the Jay Street bridge on Sunday in the 1980s, the first section of the span tilted as the old bridge gave way under the force of gravity. The work crews spent approximately two hours preparing the first of three sections for demolition. A push from a large front-end loader completed the job.
