Paving downtown

Sure, it’s a pain for those driving Main Street and Bellefonte Avenue during paving, but think how nice it will be when it’s completed. So, be patient, and look forward to a smoother ride.

Stuffed Pepper Soup

Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St. will be selling stuffed pepper soup for $7 a quart and homemade bread for $4 a loaf. Pre-orders only. Orders must be called into the church on Monday through Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 570-748-6481. Deadline for orders is Oct. 28. Pick up is 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2.

Help winterize the city gardens

Dogwood Circle Garden Club will be winterizing the city gardens at the Triangle across from the post office and the Civil War monument on Monday Oct. 28 at 10am. (Rain date Tuesday Oct. 29). Community help is welcome as the club will be pulling out the annual flowers, trimming perennials and other maintenance. Please bring gloves, kneeling pads and clippers.

Ross Tea Committee announces Fall Tea Party

The Ross Library Tea Committee announced the Pink Ribbon Tea Party will take place on Saturday, Oct. 26, after the Halloween Parade, from 1 to 3 p.m. Donations accepted at the Pink Ribbon event will benefit local breast cancer awareness efforts. A variety of tea as well sweets and tea sandwiches will be available. Door prizes from a variety of local merchants will also be available. Call 570-748-3321 if you have any questions.
