LOCK HAVEN — Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Donations recently donated $2,500 to the Michael Brookens, Todd Mellott, and Michael Gardner Memorial Fund, an endowed fund with the Clinton County Community Foundation.

Created in 2017 by Jim Akeley, Kelli Gardner, and Cheryl Seddon, the intention of this fund is to honor three men who were not only close friends, but also good stewards in their community. Michael Brookens passed away in November 2014, Todd Mellott passed away in November 2015 and Michael Gardner passed away in November 2016.

Annually, the proceeds from this fund now benefit the Lock Haven YMCA swim program, the Central Mountain High School band program, and the Annie Halenbake Ross Library.

These three men gave back to the community in many ways. They are terribly missed and we are honored to carry their names on in perpetuity.

Nicole Miele, on behalf of Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Donations, stated she “was pleased to make this donation to help such a worthwhile charity.” Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Donations was founded by Pace-O-Matic, Miele Manufacturing, and Pennsylvania Skill Amusement Terminals.

Over the past year, since Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Donations was founded, they have donated over half a million dollars to charities across the Commonwealth, including Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Ronald McDonald Houses, Law Enforcement organizations, fire departments, libraries and many other non-profits and charities. Cheryl said, “We are very grateful to Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Donations for their generous donation of $2,500 to support our fund. Their commitment to giving back to the community is outstanding and has benefited numerous charitable causes and organizations. We are honored to be one of the causes Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Donations chose to support.”

Several fundraisers are held throughout the year for The Michael Brookens, Todd Mellott, and Michael Gardner Memorial Fund. There is one in March where The Urge plays with all proceeds from tickets sales going to the fund and one in November at Browns Hill Tavern, where 20% of the daily sales are donated to the fund.

This year’s fundraiser at Browns Hill Tavern will be on Nov. 16, from open until close. An additional fundraiser this year is a bus trip to NYC on Dec. 14. This bus is chartered through Susquehanna Trailways and leaves the Walmart Supercenter in Mill Hall at 5 a.m., for a day on your own in NYC. Tickets are $70 each. Reservations and payment are due by Nov. 1. There are limited seats available. To make a reservation contact Cheryl Seddon at 717-436-5965 or seddonc@yahoo.com.
