AVIS — There’s a new business in Avis. It’s called Wildflower Enterprises and it offers healing opportunities through art.

“Our mission is to offer healing opportunities through art. We have a women’s support group. However, we also are just starting to offer classes to the community in sewing and upcycling,” said co-owner Kacie Hopkins.

“During this class you will refashion a button down shirt into a skirt. You can design the skirt for yourself or someone else. You will learn basic sewing 101 skills,” Tompkins said.

The class limit is eight people. You can purchase tickets today at WildflowerEnterprises.net

Those who attend should bring a button down shirt with a color and design you love. The shirt should be at least two sizes larger than the original size of the person the skirt will be made for.

Sewing machines are available, but those who have their own are free to bring it to class.

Not a beginning seamstress?

You’ll still enjoy learning tips and tricks on how to best deconstruct and reuse material as you design and create your own a one of a kind skirt.

All upcycled sewing classes are designed for all skill levels, teens and up.

Bring a group of friendsand make it a party.

For information and to register for the class, contact Kacie Hopkins at wildflowerbykandk@gmail.com or 615-339-0052.
