‘Strike for a Wish’ is Feb. 2

LOCK HAVEN — The Fifth annual “Strike for a Wish” fundraiser is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 2, at Clinton Lanes in Lock Haven. There are three squad times — 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

The event, a nine-pin no-tap doubles bowling tournament — raises money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants wishes to local children suffering from life-threating illnesses. The past two bowling tournaments have helped local children with cancer to go to Walt Disney World in Florida.

The cost to participate is $20 per team of two bowlers of any youth or adult combination. All teams will bowl three games on the same pair of lanes. A score of “9” on the first ball also counts as a strike for all bowlers.

Teams can sign up at the front desk at Clinton Lanes or by contacting tournment directors Dakotah Miller, 570-660-9426 and Brad Milanese, 814-883-5077, or Gary Eggler, manager of Clinton Lanes, 570-748-8552.

Local businesses can help by donating items for “Donation Raffles,” and monetary donations can be mailed to Clinton Lanes, Attention Brad Milanese, 529 High St., Lock Haven, Pa. 17745.

All proceeds benefit the “Make-A-Wish” Foundation.
