SOUP SALE

Howard United Methodist Church will have a soup sale luncheon on Feb. 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church fellowship hall. A bowl of soup, roll, a piece of pie and your drink is $6. Take-out quarts of soup are $6 and can be pre-ordered by calling Patti at 814-625-2182 before Feb. 17.

The soup sale this month will benefit Logan and Sean McCann and their daughter Wren. Wren is six months old and was born with a hole in her heart and the little muscle is not working. She has been at Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital sedated for a week now and has been placed on the heart transplant list.

Logan and Sean have both exhausted all of their vacation and leave time to be with little Wren and the financial burdens are a big worry for them. This soup sale will give them some assistance and allow them to continuing focusing on Wren.

Please come to the soup sale or order take-outs and drop a few extra dollars in the donation can for the family. If you can’t make the soup sale please consider writing a check to the Logan and Sean McCann and mail to the Howard Christian Church, PO Box 257, Howard, PA 16841 for delivery to them.

CEMETERY

ASSOCIATION

The Blanchard Baptist Cemetery Association is asking for donations to pay for the upkeep of the cemetery. The cemetery is located beside the Liberty Baptist Church but the church does not financially support the cemetery. Funds are running extremely low and it would be a nice gesture for those who have loved ones buried at the cemetery to make a monetary donation in honor of those loved ones so that the cemetery can be mowed and kept nice this summer.

The last time the cemetery association asked for financial help was in 2013, so it’s important that we take this matter seriously and make sure that funds are provided as a way of showing our respect and honor to those buried there. Donations can be mailed to Carol Robison at PO Box 93, Mingoville, PA 16856.

This cemetery may be a perfect project for a student looking to fulfill their senior project requirements. Perhaps a fundraiser or benefit could be organized to help raise money for the Blanchard Baptist Cemetery. You may call Carol if you have any questions at 814-383-4258.
