Ryan Young of Beech Creek is a special needs student at Central Mountain High School and is looking forward to graduation. He must complete a senior project and has chosen to pave the parking lot at the Friendship Community Center in Beech Creek. Ryan is trying to raise a total of $12,800 for Eby Paving to do the paving this spring. Ryan and his mother Fay Confer, shown above, were on hand at the FCC last month for a basket benefit with Ryan collecting donations toward his goal. Fay serves as a board member for the FCC and Sandi Boob is Ryan’s project mentor. Ryan was delighted with the $475 that he earned in donations that day and he’s hoping that other individuals and local businesses will help him meet his goal by making a tax deductible donation to the Friendship Community Center, PO Box 218, Beech Creek, PA 16822.
