UPMC Lock Haven employees screened, masked

PHOTO PROVIDED

As employees arrive for their shift and are screened upon entry at UPMC Lock Haven Hospital, they receive a mask to wear during their shift. Above, a staff member is completing the screening questionnaire with one of the screeners while donning her mask and sanitizing her hands. Although there have been no cases of COVID-19 at the local facility, the hospital is prepared to follow CDC recommendations, which are that health care workers use personal protective equipment and implement standard, contact, and airborne precautions, including the use of eye protection. Health care workers should wear a gown, gloves, and either an N95 respirator plus a face shield or goggles, or a powered, air-purifying respirator. In the attached photos, staff are assisting each other with safety checks of their PPE prior to working at the sample collection site in Williamsport.
