Water Boil ends
The water boil advisory for customners of 80 N. Jones St., 75 Spring St., and 95 W. Fourth St. has ended. The city of Lock Haven reports the problem has been corrected and residents need not boil water any longer.
Big Spring Spirits in Bellefonte has been producing and selling hand sanitizer at their distillery. Bottles sell for $5 each and proceeds were divided between the FaithCentre and the Bellefonte Y to assist in hunger relief efforts.A total of $20,000 has been raised to date with the FaithCentre Food Bank and the Y each receiving a gift of $10,000. Kevin Lloyd is the owner of Big Springs and took the initiative to help the community during the COVID-19 crisis.
The Hands and Feet and Hope Mission has rescheduled its gun raffle bingo from May 30 to Oct. 18 at Flemington First Church of Christ. Any tickets purchased for the May event will be honored in October.
John B. Hoy Jr. Memorial Scholarship
Due to school not being in session, the application deadline for the John B. Hoy Jr. Memorial Scholarship offered by the Clinton County Solid Waste Authority is being extended to Tuesday, June 30. The Clinton County Solid Waste Authority is offering one John B. Hoy Jr. Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 during the 2019-2020 school year. The applying student, a high school senior or a college freshman, must be a resident of Clinton County.
