Restored Memorial

KEVIN RAUCH/FOR THE EXPRESS

Just eight modest stone steps off of the Right Hand of Young Woman’s Creek Road at the entrance of the Laurelly Fork Trout Nursery sits a 41-year old stone monument for Lloyd Wilson. The Clinton County Federation of Sportsmen set the memorial in place in 1979, recognizing Wilson’s career in which he served as a waterways patrolman for the Pennsylvania Fish Commission from 1953 to the time of his passing in 1977. Wilson was a World War II veteran and a Purple Heart recipient. Western Clinton Sportsman Association members John Drake and Kevin Nevins recently restored the memorial as the now four decades tribute once again looks as it did when set into place in 1979
