Bellefonte man crafts word search with street names
BELLEFONTE — Steve Heverly loves to write.
The Bellefonte resident has a passion for it. Now that he’s retired from his job as a manager of the Centre County Community Development Block Grant Program, he has time to write.
“After retiring … I began doing what I had wanted to do for some time — writing,” Heverly said.
To date, Heverly has written four one-act plays, one full-length play, several short stories, four ghost stories, one science fiction story, a horror story and one suitable for children.
Heverly even wrote a story for The Express about a theatre group from Williamsport. The story appeared in these very pages “many moons ago.”
He’s also written several 25-word stories — a complete story in 25 words or less.
His favorite 25-word story? “I stumbled into the jungle clearing and saw natives sharpening their knives beside pots of boiling water,” and I thought, “Oh, I hope they’re vegetarians.”
Now, Heverly has branched out into word searches. He recently did a word search with the streets of Bellefonte in it. So have a look and see if you can find your street in the puzzle.
Heverly said that he plans on doing more word searches in the future. Perhaps more street names, holidays, who knows? For Heverly, the sky is truly the limit.
Now, start circling.
