Library Lovers Month coming to Ross
LOCK HAVEN — February is coming up, and it’s Library Lovers Month!
Every year, the Ross Library holds their “Blind Date With A Book” program, and this year is no exception. Though the library is currently doing lobby service only, the books will still be available.
Books will be wrapped in paper, so that the story is a surprise. Each book will be labeled with a description, such as “Mystery” or “Fantasy,” but the title and author will be unknown. Patrons may browse books in the lobby and select one, or call 570-748-3321 to request a Blind Date book, and let the staff get it ready to be picked up. Blind Date With A Book is the perfect way to liven things up at home in the winter!
The library is offering free take-home basic origami kits to anyone who is interested. Origami is the Japanese art of folding paper into specific shapes. Each kit contains simple instructions to make three different animals, plus ten pieces of origami paper to work with. Kits can be picked up in the lobby of the library, or included with a phone-in book order.
The library welcomes everyone into the monthly book club, the Book Brigade. On the last Saturday of each month unless otherwise announced, the club meets at 10 a.m. to discuss a book and its related topics, drink coffee, and socialize. A few changes have been made to the schedule for the holidays. On Jan. 30, the book will be “Dave Barry’s Money Secrets,” and on Feb. 27, it will be Kim Micele Richardson’s “The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek.” This program will be held online. To register, e-mail email@example.com for the Zoom meeting information.
Unless otherwise stated, all programs are free and open to the public. To register for a program or get more information, contact the Ross Library at 570-748-3321 or firstname.lastname@example.org. The Annie Halenbake Ross Library is a Clinton County United Way partner agency and a PA Forward Gold Star Library.
