AARP free tax preparation
not available in 2021
LOCK HAVEN — After 33 years of providing free in-person tax-preparation assistance through the Tax-Aide program sponsored by AARP Foundation and the IRS, the service will not be available locally for the upcoming income tax season.
The Tax-Aide site in the STEP Clinton County Community Center at 124 E. Walnut St., Lock Haven, will not be open for the 2021 tax season. The health and safety of both volunteers and taxpayers is Tax-Aide’s top priority, and the decision not to reopen was made based on health data trends across the country and in middle Pennsylvania counties.
Volunteers hope to return to in-person tax-preparation assistance in 2022.
