Blood drive

The Lock Haven Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 4298 is hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive on Friday, March 5 from 1:30-6 p.m. in the “Trackside Room” at the club at 433 E. Clinton St. To help maintain social distancing scheduled appointments are strongly recommended. Call 1-800-733-2767 or visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter Lock Haven to schedule an appointment. Please remember to wear your mask and bring a photo ID. Blood supplies are critically low at this time. Donors of all blood types are needed. The Red Cross is testing blood donations for COVID-19 antibodies which may help current patients in need of plasma transfusions.

Seasonal job opening

The Wildlife Leadership Academy, a nonprofit whose mission is “to engage and empower high school age youth to become Conservation Ambassadors to ensure a sustained wildlife, fisheries and natural resource legacy for future generations,” is seeking a qualified candidate for a seasonal (7 month) Field School Operations Coordinator at their Lock Haven office. The Coordinator position would be responsible for the administrative and logistical operations of the Academy’s summer field schools. Applications are requested by March 1. Guess we lucked out again

It was great to see a little bit of light fluffy snow on the sidewalks Friday morning instead of several inches as some weather forecasters predicted. And it seems the plowers were out and about clearing the snow and applying non skid on the roadways, which were pretty much just wet as we left for work. Of course, there are always slippery spots and caution is the name of the game, but it could have been so much worse.
