2021 Garden of the Month program begins in May

LOCK HAVEN — The annual Garden of the Month program sponsored by The Dogwood Circle Garden Club of Lock Haven and The Express, kicks off the 27th year of the recognizing outstanding gardens and gardeners.

Since 1994, selected gardens have been recognized for their community spirit and the club has recognized these gardens with a commemorative certificate along with being featured in The Express.

Club members are now accepting nominations for the May garden of the month.

For 2021, the club is looking for front or back gardens. Spring flowers and flowering trees should be included.

The monthly garden will again feature a sign by “Gair the Painter”.

Nominated gardens must be within a 10-mile radius of Lock Haven.

The “garden tour” which had been scheduled for Summer 2020, has again been postponed due to COVID.

Nominations may be given to Mary Vairo at 570-748-8379 or to Judy Walker at 570-726-4426

For more information about the club, please visit its website or Facebook page.

New members are welcome. In addition to monthly meetings, the club plans, plants, and cares for the gardens at the city triangle and Civil War monument.
