Road work to being Monday in Flemington

FLEMINGTON — Motorists traveling along Huston Street and Woods Avenue can expect possible delays over the coming weeks as a street project begins Monday.

Flemington Borough council reviewed the project, which will be completed by Big Rock Paving out of Muncy, during their meeting Thursday.

The project will include updating drainage, curb removal and replacement, placement of ADA ramps, milling, paving, scratch and overlay at a cost of $299,138.90.

Borough Secretary Charity Walizer said the project will be paid for through the borough’s PennDOT turnback funding. The funds were given after PennDOT returned care of Woods Avenue to the borough approximately two years ago.

The project is weather dependent but expected to take about a month to complete. Walizer noted Big Rock has until August to complete the project.
