Photo scavenger hunts at

Hyner Run, Little Pine

Hyner Run State Park is offering a “Photo Scavenger Hunt” at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 26. And Little Pine State Park is offering a “Photo Scavenger Hunt” at 7:15 p.m. that same day.

Bring a camera or cell phone for this high tech scavenger hunt. Find the items on the list, take a photo, and get a prize.

All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate. Also, all participants will need to follow the CDC Guidelines and if unvaccinated, wear a mask in order to attend this program. If you are sick or have been around someone who has been sick, please stay home.

Program may be modified or cancelled in the event of severe weather or new CDC Guidelines. Meet at the amphitheater.

Nature Trail Hike

Hyner Run State Park is offering a “Nature Trail Hike” at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 2.

There will be a discussion about the flora and fauna seen along the trail as well as the history of the area. There will also be a look into trail information and etiquette. All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate.

Also, all participants will need to follow the CDC Guidelines and if unvaccinated, wear a mask in order to attend this program. If you are sick or have been around someone who has been sick, please stay home.

Birding at Hyner Run

On Saturday, July 3 at 7 p.m., there will be a program on “Birding at Hyner Run.”

Topics will include the different birds that live at Hyner Run and also how to identify them. Please bring your own binoculars and other birding gear. All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate.

Also, all participants will need to follow the CDC Guidelines and if unvaccinated, wear a mask in order to attend this program. If you are sick or have been around someone who has been sick, please stay home.

SMART Fishing Program

Little Pine State Park is offering a “SMART Fishing Program” at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 4.

Have kids? Want to introduce them to the sport of fishing? This program is geared toward teaching others to be responsible anglers. Participants must bring their fishing pole. All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate.

Also, all participants will need to follow the CDC Guidelines and if unvaccinated, wear a mask in order to attend this program. If you are sick or have been around someone who has been sick, please stay home.

Dog Days of Summer

Morning Walk

On Monday, July 5 at Little Pine State Park, there will be a “Dog Days of Summer Morning Walk” at 9 a.m. Join the naturalist for a morning walk on the Buttonball Trail. Some of the flora and fauna will be discussed. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash not exceeding six feet. All children must be accompanied by an adult in order to participate.
