Farmer’s Market open today
The City of Lock Haven and Downtown Lock Haven Inc. are hosting “Market Village on Main-Farmer’s Market” today and every Saturday through Labor Day. The Market runs from 9 a.m. to noon in the Main Street parking lot in downtown Lock Haven. Fresh, locally sourced fruits and vegetables, baked goods, condiments, and organic frozen meats, mushrooms, and eggs. Vendors include: Simone’s Bakery, Sugar Valley 4-H, Polecat Hollow Farms, and It Is What It Is. Cash, card, and EBT accepted.

In 2000 the Sugar Valley Concerned Citizens established a Charter School on 10 acres of land east of Loganton Borough. It was called the Sugar Valley Rural Charter School and is thriving today, 20 years later.
More Than Bread
The Salvation Army will be opening their doors once again to the community for “More than Bread” starting Aug. 2. Free lunches will be served Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Doors will open each day at 11:15 a.m. All are welcome to come and join us for a free meal and fellowship.
The Salvation Army will be giving away bookbags to children in the community in grades K-12 who are in need. Bookbags will also include school supplies and a voucher for clothing to The Salvation Army Thrift store. Those interested in applying should call the office at 570-748-2951 to set up an appointment before Aug. 9.
