A total of 10 CCC camps were located in Clinton County during FDR’s New Deal era. These companies (200 men per company) worked on the road to Hyner View, the vista at Hyner View, the Kettle Creek Dam and State Park, Lamar Fish Hatchery, Ravensburg Dam and state park, and built hundreds of miles of roads and fire trails. They helped local towns during recovery from the flood of 1936.
Titan Market Car Show
Titan Market, 2042 Axemann Road in Bellefonte is hosting a classic car show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14. Awards will be handed out in several categories — People’s Choice, Best in Show, Most Unique, Kids Choice, Industrial Revolution Era (pre 1939), Atomic Era (1940-1959), Rock and Roll Era (1960-1969), Disco Era (1970-1979), Grunge Era (1980-1999), Modern Day (2000-present) and Rat Rod (musty, dusty, rusty). The first 40 vehicles will be inside the market. Others will be outside. There will be food vendors, door prizes and a 50/50 drawing.

Spikes’ season wraps up
The State College Spikes will put the wraps on their 2021 season on Thursday and Friday this week, with 6:35 p.m. games against the rival Williamsport Crosscutters. Games are played at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park at Penn State’s University Park campus. For tickets, visit www.statecollegespikes.com.
