MACKEYVILLE — Truckers 4 Hope is a community event for everyone held at the Clinton County Fairgrounds. The fifth annual event is set to run from Sept. 24 to 26. This event entertains community members young and old with large trucks, food, music and more.

Truckers 4 Hope is an annual event that many from all around come to enjoy each year. People travel from New England, the west coast and southern states to join in the event.

With so much to do everyone can find something to enjoy. Whether it be the food from local food vendors like Scott’s Roasting and Snyder’s Concessions, to over 60 merchant vendors filling both buildings of the fairgrounds, to the live entertainment in past and present hosting local bands like Speed Bump Willie to up-and-coming country stars like Claudia Hoyser and Adam Yarger, Aaron Tippin and Confederate Railroad, and the shows personal favorite: Long Haul Paul who can tell you trucker stories through song that touch the soul.

Each year the show has grown.

The first year 40 semi trucks were accounted for on the grounds has grown to over 300 semi trucks. Semi trucks glow at evenings light show which is a community favorite.

Truckers 4 Hope has a goal to bring the community together with fun, entertainment, and much joy. Though that is not the only goal. The main goal of the show is to raise awareness and funds for the cystic fibrosis foundation aiding in its research for a cure to the terminal disease that affects so many, including those in the community.

Truckers 4 Hope and its Cystic Fibrosis Great Strides team HOPE4HAYZE, have donated over $90,000 through the years.

This three-day event takes all year to plan with much blood, sweat and even tears to execute a seamless and awe inspiring event for the community.

Close family and friends to the organizers Jason and Prella Smith couldn’t pull it all off without their help, love, support and commitment.

Truckers 4 Hope has brought fireworks and monster trucks to this year’s event along with its annual light show in the evenings. The show even hosts a kids day where there are games, crafts and characters along with a kid community favorite, pedal pools.

Seniors from CMHS team up with Truckers 4 Hope and Hope 4 Hayze to pull off a great kids day for their senior projects. Even local Cub Scout troops join in and volunteer their time to the event.

The show hosts its own corn hole tournament awarding trophies to the winning team. But don’t worry, if those activities don’t suit you there are always the semi truck pulls, tractor pulls, drag races, or even the working class track pulls.

Every day, all day there’s something going on around the clock, including a barrel train for kids to enjoy! Still want more? The raffle table explodes with amazing prizes to be won.

Bring the family out. The cost to enjoy the events is a $10 entry fee with kids 10 and under entering for free.
