The Lock Haven Hospital Auxiliary will resume its monthly meetings on Sept. 20. The meeting is at 1 p.m. at the hospital. All members are welcomed and masks are required.
Chicken BBQ/Open House
Bring your family and friends and join the Sugar Valley Historical Society at this 9th annual event on Saturday, Sept. 18 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Museum/One-Room School located at 1756 Bull Run Road, two miles southwest of Loganton off Route 477 in the village of Bull Run. The eat-in or take-out chicken meal will include chicken BBQ leg and thigh, baked beans, applesauce, homemade cake, and soda or water for $9. The Salvation Army will be holding its annual Mini Soup Off on Oct. 15 at 11:30 a.m. at 119 E. Church St., Lock Haven. Whether you’re an amateur or professional cook, anyone is welcome to register to take part in the event. Those who participate will enter their soup during The Salvation Army’s More than Bread program and their lunch crew will vote on the best soup. The winner will compete in the organization’s annual Soup Off Fundraiser held on Nov. 6 at Haywood’s on the Green against local restaurants.
