Benninghoff to host agriculture breakfast

CENTRE HALL — Rep. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin) announced he will be hosting a free agriculture breakfast on Friday, Oct. 29, for farmers and those interested in hearing the latest updates from state and federal officials on agriculture-related issues.

The event will be held at Grange Fair Grounds, Triangle Mercantile Building 62 (use entrance 4), 149 Homan Lane in Centre Hall from 8-10 a.m.

In addition to hearing from Benninghoff, attendees will also hear from Secretary of Agriculture Russell Redding and others in the agriculture community.

Space is limited, so interested attendees should RSVP with Benninghoff’s Bellefonte office by calling 814-355-1300.

Free take-out meals at American Legion on Nov. 11

BEECH CREEK — Beech Creek American Legion Post 623 and Pennsylvania Skill will hand out hundreds of meals to veterans and their guest as part of the Veteran’s Day Take Out on PA Skill even Thursday, Nov. 11, outside the legion.

The sponsors of the take out would like to honor veterans. The meal is open to any veteran and a guest from Clinton and surrounding counties and will run from 3 to 5 p.m.

Pennsylvania Skill, powered by Pace-O-Matic, provides legal skill amusement games, which are distributed by hundreds of local small businesses in the coin-operation industry. They benefit small businesses, including restaurants an bars, along with social clubs, American Legions and VFWs.

Social media/smartphone class offered by the JS Education Foundation

JERSEY SHORE — The Jersey Shore Education Foundation is sponsoring a Social Media/Smartphone class this fall.

The sessions consist of 6 classes of 60 minutes divided into 6 weeks for the Wednesday evening sessions. The class will begin on Wednesday, Nov. 3 and will conclude on Wednesday, Dec. 8. The class will be held at the Jersey Shore High School.

The maximum of participants is 35 for this class. Should there be any interference with the regularly scheduled lessons for example; the weather, make up classes will be arranged.

Applications (hardcopies found on the Education Foundation Facebook page) will be accepted up until the day before the session is to begin at the Jersey Shore High School Main Office or registrations can be made online (http://jsedfoundation.org or http://www.facebook.com/jsasd ) on a first come first serve basis.

Once the class is filled, the participants will receive additional information pertaining to the class. Cost per session is $10 and participants are expected/obligated to attend all 6 sessions.
