Happy Travelers

Anyone going with the Pennsylvania Happy Travelers to West Virginia to “Ride the Rails,” Oct. 11-13, should plan to attend the meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 5, to pick up luggage tags and itineraries. The meeting is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the STEP Center (senior center), 124 E. Market St., Lock Haven. The Center requires two forms of ID the first time you attend; stop at the main desk to register. Also, masks are still required in the common areas. If you are unable to attend this meeting and have no one to pick up your tag and itinerary for you, contact Rita Ruhl at 570-748-4226 to make alternate arrangements.

Yard-N-Bake Sale

Fall Yard-N-Bake Sale at Curtin United Methodist Church, 305 Curtin Village Road, Howard, will be held on Friday, Oct. 14, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Yummy treats, pies, homemade soups, hotdogs, sloppy joes and yard sale items will be available. Halloween Parade

The Castanea Township Recreation Committee announces the Second Annual Halloween Parade scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 30, at 4 p.m., beginning on Brown Street and ending at the fire station on McElhattan Avenue. The committee seeks non-profit groups, decorated cars and machinery, emergency vehicles (police, fire, EMT), dance troupes, marching bands, Scouts, costumed groups, families, friends and children to participate in the parade. Pre-registration is requested in order to plan the parade and prizes. RSVP to Rick Schulze, chair, Castanea Township Recreation Committee at fschulze@comcast.net.
