Today
— Roads to Peace Domestic Violence Vigil, 6-7 p.m., at Triangle Park. The event will begin with a hot chocolate social, followed by introductions, a proclamation read by Leah Borrow and Angel Rubin featured as the guest speaker. Vigil ceremony will take place at 6:30 p.m., with closing statements planned for 6:50 p.m.
— Mill Hall Vol. Fire Company offers a Cash Bingo every Friday night beginning at 6:30 p.m. Doors and the kitchen open at 5:30 p.m. The fire station and social room are located at 9 Peale Ave., Mill Hall.
— Haunted Tours, 10 p.m., beginning at Triangle Park, to benefit Highland Cemetery Association, $5 per person.
— Spook Haven’s Haunted House will be on Oct. 25 and 26, from 7 to 10 p.m. This will take you back to the old school characters of Halloween. Spook Haven is located at 100 Danis St., Mill Hall.
Saturday
— Howard Scout Troop will be “Scouting for Food” in Howard this morning. Have your donations of food to benefit the local food bank in a plastic bag and placed on your porch before 8 a.m. for the scouts to pick up. Donations can also be dropped off at Howard United Methodist Church if the scouts miss getting yours. Call 814-625-2182 for info on the Howard Scouts.
— Halloween Parade in Lock Haven, 10 a.m. Vehicles and floats should line up at 9:30 a.m. in the area of North Henderson Street. Floats will be given awards. Parade ends at Triangle Park where free games and refreshments will be given out. In case of rain, an indoor party will be held at the Eastside Fire Rescue on E. Church St., formerly Hope Hose Fire Co.
— Hear the personal story of Dioany Yosuino, a young lady who received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox as a young girl in Venezuela, at 1 p.m. at the Park Forest Baptist Church, 3030 Carnegie Drive, State College. You’ll also learn how to pack a shoebox for OCC this year. If you want, bring your packed and ready shoebox to the church, a drop off point for this year’s OCC shoebox collection.
— Italian Dinner at Yarnell Community Center, 4-6 p.m. Meal featuring spaghetti Alfredo, garlic bread, salad and dessert for donation (of at least $10) for each meal. Take-outs or dine in. Call Donna at 814-880-9450 for info on Yarnell events.
— Big Woods Bible Church’s Fall Festival, noon to 3 p.m. Featuring trunk or treat, inflatables, games, food and more. Big Woods Bible Church is at 241 S. Hanna St., Lock Haven.
— House of the Lord Fellowship Church will be having a fall harvest party at the Durty Dabber’s Pavilion in McElhattan. Games, crafts, a big campfire, lots of food and desserts and more. Fun for all ages!
— Haunted Tours, 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., beginning at Triangle Park, to benefit Highland Cemetery Association, $5 per person.
— LH Criminal Justice Club’s Trunk or Treat, 1 p.m., at East Campus parking lot, 301 W. Church St., Lock Haven. Bring a canned food item to benefit Haven Cupboard.
— Spook Haven’s Haunted House will be open from 7 to 10 p.m. This will take you back to the old school characters of Halloween. Spook Haven is located at 100 Danis St., Mill Hall.
Sunday
— Susquehanna Valley Big Twins Motorcycle Club’s Gun Bingo at KBR Bingo, 1 Piper Way, Lock Haven. Doors open at 11 a.m. with games beginning at 1 p.m. $50 tickets.
— Country Jam will be held at the Yearick Center in Howard from 2-6 p.m. Hosted by the Back Porch String Band, the monthly jam session is free and open to those who want to play along or sit and enjoy the afternoon of music. A basket is passed for monetary donations to benefit the Howard Fire Company. Bring a snack to share.
— Turkey Shoot at the Liberty Township Sportsmen’s Club, 9:30 a.m. Registration starts at 9 a.m.
— First Church of Christ, Vesper St., Lock Haven, will have a Fall Soup Sale from 11 a.m. until sold out. Cost is $7 for dine in or take-out meals. Benefits the youth group’s upcoming trips.
— Swissdale United Methodist Church is honoring first responders today at 11 a.m. All first responders are invited to the service.
Monday
— Dunnstown Fire Company offers a Cash Bingo every Monday night at the fire station on 119 Woodward Ave., Lock Haven. Bingo starts at 6 p.m. and all proceeds help to support the fire company’s needs.
Tuesday
— Judy Densevich Memorial All You Can Eat Soup and Salad Dinner will be held at Bellefonte Knights of Columbus, 315 Stoney Batter, Bellefonte, Pa., (Up the hill from the Dollar General). The public will be served from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., or until the soup runs out. Featuring at least 20 homemade soups, numerous salads, breads and plenty of homemade desserts, this dinner will cost only $10 for eat in or take out. Quarts of soup are also available to-go for only $10. No advance tickets are required, simply stop in and enjoy a great meal. You won’t find a better deal anywhere! Benefits the Bellefonte Knights of Columbus.
