CRAFT FAIR

The Old Gregg School Winter Craft Fair will be held tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be lots of craft vendors, live music, foods and more available. The Old Gregg School is located at 106 School St., Spring Mills.

FIRE NEWS

Centre Hall Fire Company’s first Friday Bingo will be this evening, Dec. 6. Doors open at 5:30; early birds games at 6:30 and regular Bingo starts at 7 p.m. Rip tickets and food available.

COOKIES WITH SANTA

McElhattan Pathway to Christ Church is offering family time with Santa. Come enjoy free cookies and milk with Santa on Sunday, Dec. 8, from noon to 2 p.m. You can also have your photo taken with Santa and emailed to you as a keepsake reminder of the event. Free gift bags will be presented to each child while supplies last. The church is located at 502 McElhattan Drive, McElhattan. FREE CLOTHING

The Light of the World Clothing Bank at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 145 W. Linn St., Bellefonte, will be open on Friday, Dec. 6, from 2:30-5p.m. and on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. until noon. Clothing (for all seasons) for everyone from babies to adults, towels, blankets, sheets, some beautiful handmade afghans, shoes, purses and more are available. Everything is free! Christmas at The Curtin

Capture a memorable holiday visit to Eagle Iron Works and Curtin Village, 251 Curtin Road, Howard, PA and have your photos taken with friends and family inside and outside the Curtin Mansion. Saturday, Dec. 7, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 8, noon to 4 p.m. No reservations necessary. Donations appreciated.

Christmas trees, Santa Claus, garlands, glitter, a graceful stairway, a country kitchen and one large excursion wagon provide the perfect backdrops for keepsake photos.

Join the evening festivities on Sunday, Dec. 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. See the mansion lit with candles and lanterns (all battery operated), listen to a Christmas story from the past, enjoy Happy Valley Wines, non alcoholic mulled cider and finger foods. Reservations required. RSVP to curtinvillage@gmail.com. Don’t delay, limited seating available and nearly sold out. Per person cost = $30.

Proceeds from this weekend fundraiser benefit the all volunteer, non-profit Roland Curtin Foundation and its efforts to preserve and maintain the Eagle Iron Works and Curtin Village historic site located in Bald Eagle Valley (Route 150) just a short distance north of Milesburg, Pa.

YOUNG PATRONS

Centre County Young Patrons of Husbandry (Y.P. of H.) will meet on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 6 p.m., at Sunset West Restaurant in Pleasant Gap for a Dutch treat Christmas dinner and party. We will be signing Christmas cards for shut-in Centre County Grange members.

CHRISTMAS DANCE

LIONS NEWS

Howard Area Lions Bingo will be held this month on Dec. 12 and again on Dec. 19. Normally Bingo is held on the second and fourth Thursday’s, but because of Christmas the Lions have moved the Bingo up to Dec. 19. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and Bingo starts at 6:30 p.m.

Milesburg Lions Club holds their Bingo every Thursday evening at the Milesburg Community Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. and games begin at 6:45 p.m.

Howard Area Lions will distribute food and Toys for Tots on Monday, Dec. 16. From noon to 3 p.m. those who use the local food bank can come for food and toys. Bring your sturdy boxes back for future food distributions.

Howard Lions has their 2025 PA Lottery raffle tickets for sale. They are $10 each and are good for the whole year. Prizes are awarded each day except on Sunday’s. Winning number is based on the Pick 3 evening drawing. See any Lion to get your ticket today! They make great stocking stuffers!
