SNYDERTOWN — On Dec. 31, 2012, Mack Brady died from a blood infection just 16 days shy of his ninth birthday.
Now more than a decade later, Mack’s mother, Elizabeth Brady, has written a book, “Oil for Your Lantern: Sharing Light after the Death of a Child,” which details her grief journey after losing her son and how her faith guided her.
Elizabeth, who is an associate teaching professor of Communication Arts and Sciences in the College of the Liberal Arts at Penn State, will visit St. Mark Lutheran Church, 850 Snydertown Road, Howard, on Saturday, March 29, to talk about her experiences and her book. The event begins at 11 a.m. and will include a time for questions and answers. Brady will also be signing books.
Books will be available to purchase at the event for $15, while supplies last. The book also can be purchased prior to the event and anytime at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other book vendors.
