Covenant Cafe to meet March 18

LOCK HAVEN — The Covenant Cafe, an early stage Alzheimer’s activity group, will be meeting Tuesday, March 18 from 1-3 p.m. at Covenant United Methodist Church, 44 W. Main St., Lock Haven. The group will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. Everyone is asked to wear green in honor of the Irish holiday.

The group will learn an Irish Jig and participate in an Irish Song Sing Along with volunteers Kitty Oechler and Pam Blesh leading the singing and playing the piano respectively. Blesh will also entertain the group with selections on her Irish harp.

Each member of the group will decorate a wooden shamrock wreath. The festivities will end with some St. Patrick’s Day trivia and Irish-themed refreshments. The public is welcome to join the festivities.

The Covenant Cafe is a joint venture between the Nurturing, Outreach and Worship Committee of Covenant United Methodist, the Alzheimer’s Support Group and the Alzheimer’s Association. Participants in this group are given an opportunity to be involved in socially and physically stimulating programs which will help them remain as active as possible.
