Fill the Truck shoe drive launching in Bellefonte

Bellefonte — The BAHS Class of 2028 Parent Group is conducting a Fill the Truck shoe drive fundraiser from noon to 4 p.m. on April 27, to raise funds to support the Bellefonte Class of 2028 senior year activities. The BAHS Class of 2028 Parent Group will earn funds based on the total weight of the pairs of gently worn, used and new shoes collected, as Funds2Orgs will issue a check for the collected shoes. Those dollars will benefit the Bellefonte Class of 2028. Anyone can help by donating gently worn, used and new shoes in front of Giant on Benner Pike.

All donated shoes will then be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of micro-enterprise (small business) partners. Funds2Orgs works with micro-entrepreneurs in helping them create, maintain and grow small businesses in developing countries where economic opportunity and jobs are limited. Proceeds from the sales of the shoes collected in shoe drive fundraisers are used to feed, clothe and house their families. One budding entrepreneur in Haiti even earned enough to send her son to law school.

“We are very excited about holding another Fill the Truck event,” said Denise Coslo, Secretary. “We want to thank everyone who has already donated gently used and new shoes at our drop-off locations around the area. On April 27, we will be in front of Giant on Benner Pike to collect more. We’re looking for all sizes and types of shoes: sneakers, boots, dress shoes, sandals, athletic and casual shoes. We want them all! Every pair you donate turns into funds for us, is kept out of landfills and helps others around the world.”

By donating gently worn, used and new shoes to the “Fill the Truck” Spring Cleaning Shoe Fundraiser held by the BAHS Class of 2028 Parent Group, the shoes will be given a second chance and make a difference in people’s lives around the world.

Starting at $3.69/week.
