The Jersey Shore Public Library is participating in Remake Learning Days PA from May 1-May 23. Remake Learning Days PA is a celebration of learning, designed to inspire curiosity and a love for learning in youth and families. The festival focuses on hands-on, engaging learning experiences that encourage creativity, perseverance and curiosity. Events are organized around themes like Arts, Maker, Outdoor Learning, Science, Technology and Youth Voice.

The library will offer three programs during the RLD festival. On May 1, at 6 p.m., “The Wonderful world of Weather” will be led by the Weather Outreach and Education Club from Penn State University. Through experiments and engaging hands-on activities, children will learn about weather patterns and how to stay safe when severe weather threatens. On May 8, at 6 p.m., “Histories Mysteries” will give those dirt lovers a chance to dig into the past with a mock archaeological dig for bones and more. And on May 15, children will get to explore their creative side by painting pottery with Centered Earth Art and Fine Craft Studio. More details about all programs are available on the library’s website. Space for all of these programs is limited and registration is required. You can register by visiting the library’s website at jsplpa.org, or by calling the library at 570-398-9891.

Library staff are also busy planning for another epic Summer Learning program for 2025! Registration for Summer Learning will begin June 2 and programs will celebrate this year’s theme, “Color our world.” Highlights of the summer program will include a family magic show on June 12, a visit from Reptileland on July 11, and a StoryWalk at the Wayne Township Community Park on July 24. There will be weekly programs for all ages and great prizes to win. Library representatives will be visiting classrooms in the Jersey Shore School District to promote the program and more details about Summer Learning will be available at a later date.

The library is currently hosting an educational and exciting community learning event April 22 to May 17. Twelve silkie chicken eggs are currently incubating in the library! After hatching, the baby chicks will stay for visitation (looking only, no touching!) until going to their new home on May 17.

Starting at $3.69/week.
