WILLIAMSPORT — UPMC in North Central Pa. hosted its annual High School Health Career Expo on April 9, bringing together over 200 students from nine area high schools for a day of career exploration.
“We are proud to help students explore their future paths and make valuable connections,” said Jamie Sturm, recruitment lead, UPMC Talent Acquisition in North Central Pa. “Events like this open students’ eyes to opportunities they may not have considered before and give them the tools and confidence to start planning for their futures.”
Dozens of UPMC clinical and non-clinical departments were present to provide insights into the healthcare industry, including Susquehanna Regional EMS, UPMC Rehabilitation Institute, Environmental Services, Heart & Vascular Institute, Senior Communities and more. Students were given hands-on experience with medical devices and learned CPR, how to read EKGs and how to pack a wound.
