AVIS — Dennis Greenaway has represented the United States at the World Crossbow Shooting Association near Adelaide, South Australia, earning two Silver Medals.
A total of 44 athletes competed in the event from seven nations, including England, Sweden, Estonia, Croatia, India, the USA and Australia.
According to Archery Australia, competitors ranged in age from 12 to 76 and represented all crossbow types, including Target, Standard, Freestyle and Medieval.
The WCSA is an international organization representing the interests of target and open (sport) crossbow shooters around the world, including Medieval and 3D competitions.
In 2023, Greenaway represented the U.S. in the 10th WCSA Word Crossbow Championships in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India.

He was the first representative of the U.S. to compete in the Medieval division, and brought home a bronze medal.
“We met as competitors and parted as friends,” he said.
As he did in India, Greenaway has been documenting his time in Australia — giving his followers glimpses into his time there through pictures and his daily crossbow shoot — which is at day 1,843 at the time of writing this.
Though the competition took place in the driest state in the country, the first day of the competition got rained out.
During his time at the competition, Greenaway saw many familiar faces — including the Estonia team who supported him during the 2023 competition.

He also made some new friends along the way, including a man named Greg Mitchell who made up the Australia team. They called themselves “Ausa” throughout the competition.
“Good fellowship, good sportsmanship. I got a gold medal for diplomacy and two silver medals for shooting,” Greenaway joked. “It was a great trip.”
Greenaway plans to take part in the next competition in Estonia in 2027.
