July is Ice Cream Month at Eagle Iron Works and Curtin Village

HOWARD — Take a historic ride on the American Pioneer on Sunday, July 13, to Eagle Iron Works and Curtin Village for free ice cream and cookies, old time games, pop-up photos with the Curtin Excursion Wagon, tours of the Curtin Mansion and Eagle Iron Furnace Complex or grab a ticket (first come first served) to enjoy the video story of making iron at Curtin Village.

Trains depart from the Bellefonte Station at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets may be purchased at www.bellefontetrain.org. The price of each passenger ticket includes the round-trip train excursion, the $5 admission to Eagle Iron Works and Curtin Village and complimentary cookies and ice cream.

This is the final Summer 2025 Bellefonte Historical Railroad train ride.

The American Pioneer passengers will enjoy their train travel on air-conditioned vintage rail diesel cars manufactured in Pennsylvania by the Budd Company of Philadelphia and owned by the Bellefonte Historical Railroad Society.

Looking ahead to upcoming events, the annual Ice Cream Sunday Tour at Eagle Iron Works and Curtin Village returns for the fourth year on July 27 at 2 p.m.
