PETERS — Descendants of Caspar and Philapena Peter will celebrate their 100th Family Reunion on Sunday, July 13.

The first recorded Peter reunion was held in 1926 at the William Peter Family Farm, outside of Beech Creek, when children of Caspar and Philapena began the annual family picnic tradition, and it has continued ever since. Any descendant (or relation) of Caspar and Philapena Peter is welcome to attend the reunion. At one time, substantial numbers attended the reunion, but the numbers have declined over the years. However, the reunion is still going strong 100 reunions later.

Please bring your own table settings, drinks (no alcohol allowed) and a covered dish to share.

The Caspar and Philapena Peter Reunion will be held at the Friendship Community Center, 127 Main St., Beech Creek, on Sunday, July 13, starting at noon.
