UPMC Neurosurgeon now seeing patients in McElhattan
MCELHATTAN — Georgios Klironomos, MD, MSc, PhD, neurosurgeon, UPMC Susquehanna, will now see patients at the UPMC Outpatient Center in McElhattan, 1 Outlet Lane, Suite 400.
Dr. Klironomos earned his medical degree from University of Patras, Greece, where he also completed his residency in neurosurgery. He completed fellowship trainings in neuro-oncology, cerebrovascular surgery, and skull base/endoscopic scull base neurosurgery at the University of Toronto and Lenox Hill Hospital, New York.
“It’s common for patients requiring specialty services to have to travel for their care, but UPMC is aiming to break that model of care and take specialty services to our patients,” said Tom Hoy, DPT, executive director of Neuroscience and Rehabilitation Services at UPMC Susquehanna. “By seeing patients in the McElhattan clinic, Dr. Klironomos brings the quality services offered at the Neuroscience Center in Williamsport to the patients of Clinton County close to their homes.”
Dr. Klironomos specializes in cranial and skull base procedures, endoscopic surgery, brain tumors, traumatic brain injuries, and brain aneurysm.
UPMC Susquehanna accepts most major health insurance plans including Geisinger Health Plan, Highmark, UPMC Health Plan, and more.
