Geisinger’s most popular baby names for 2019
DANVILLE– Geisinger Medical Center has announced the most popular baby names for 2019, and Noah and Emma are the winners.
Geisinger welcomed 6,085 babies in 2019 and has tabulated the most popular names.
Babies are delivered at six Geisinger hospitals in Pennsylvania, including Geisinger Medical Center; Geisinger Community Medical Center; Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center; Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital; Geisinger Lewistown Hospital and Geisinger Holy Spirit.
The top 10 baby names across all of Geisinger’s hospitals in Pennsylvania are:
Girls– Emma, Olivia, Harper, Charlotte, Amelia, Ava, Isabella, Sophia, Avery and Willow.
Boys — Noah, Liam, Carson, Mason, Lucas, James, Elijah, Lincoln, Oliver and Wyatt.
Below are the top three names at individual Geisinger hospitals:
— Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre – 1,943 babies. Boys, Noah, Mason, Jacob; Girls, Olivia, Emma, Sophia
— Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital, Bloomsburg – 446 babies. Girls, Luna, Charlotte, Madison; Boys, Logan, Henry, Grayson.
— Geisinger Lewistown Hospital, Lewistown – 572 babies. Girls, Harper, Ava, Sophia. Boys, Oliver, Matthew, Noah.
— Geisinger Holy Spirit, Camp Hill – 1,070 babies. Girls, Emma, Emily, Madelyn. Boys, Liam, Elijah, William.
— Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton – 78 babies.
In 2019, Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton saw the return of babies, with The Childbirth Center opening on Oct. 10. There were 78 babies born last year, including 36 girls and 42 boys. The top two boy names are Levi and Silas. As for the girls, all 36 have a unique name. No two names are alike even when spelling variations are taken into consideration.
To find these results, we combined different spelling variations of the same sounding name. For example, the ranking for Liam also includes variations like Liamm. While Oliver also includes variations such as Olliver. Many of the other names on the list include multiple spellings.
