Junior gardeners

What do beetles, sunflowers, cows, and you have in common? Well, all of these things depend on soil to live. The Junior Master Gardeners will hold their next meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016 at 6 p.m. at the Clinton County Penn State Extension Learning Center along Route 64 near Mill Hall. The group is open to youth ages 8 and older. To join the fun, call the Penn State Extension office at 570-726-0022, extension 3829.

Class on Android

A class on Android Basics will be held at the Ross Library from 10 to 11 a.m. Jan. 16. Bring your own device if possible. The instructor will have open hours after the class until 4 p.m. for extra instruction and questions. Registration is not required but helps in providing enough handouts. To register, call 570-748-3321.

Program on Arizona

Wayne Laubscher will present a program Saturday at 7 p.m. at Swissdale United Methodist Church. His program will be “Sky Islands in Summer: Southeastern Arizona.” Do you think it’s too hot and dry to birdwatch in Arizona during the summer? Think again. Laubscher’s program will cover what “sky islands” are and the animals and plants found in the region. Some interesting history will also be included.
