Boil water advisory lifted in Castanea Township

LOCK HAVEN – A boil water advisory that has been in effect since Tuesday has been lifted, Lock Haven City’s Water Office said.

Residents from 300-401 Mackey Avenue, 2-113 Grape Street, and 408-414 Jarrett Street in Castanea were notified on Tuesday, July 17 of a problem with their drinking water and were advised to boil their water before using it due to a loss of positive pressure that could result in contamination caused by a main break.

The city’s water office is pleased to report that the problem has been corrected and that it is no longer necessary to boil water before using.

“The water line has been repaired and positive pressure restored”, Water Office Manager Wendi Spicher said. “It has been tested three times over a three-day period and is free of contamination.”

“We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience,” she said.
